*Special thanks to Cotton Incorporated’s Blue Jeans Go Green™ Denim Recycling Program for sponsoring today’s post.
I’m delighted to showcase this summer outfit with you today. It’s something I’ve worn so many times. Since it’s a repeat favorite I knew I needed to share! I am equally excited to feature a program I recently learned about that allows you to recycle your beloved old denim into something sustainable and useful. So, I’m excited to highlight an easy way you can make a difference. Keep reading to find out more!
Cotton’s Blue Jeans Go Green™ Denim Recycling Program
THE SUMMER OUTFIT
Today I am sharing this Canadian tuxedo that I’ve repeated way more times than I care to admit! It’s perfectly fit for any of your summer festivities and extremely comfortable. I love that the denim shorts provide great coverage, but keep the outfit youthful. The chambray top is lightweight, making it great for hot days. The big hat keeps the sun out of my face on bright summer days! Lastly, the open weave market tote I’m carrying has something special in it. It’s a few old pairs of jean shorts (made from cotton) that I plan to recycle thanks to Cotton’s Blue Jeans Go Green™ program’s new collaboration with Zappos for Good.
Made by Mary With Love ‘Poppy’ choker necklace (size 13-14 inches) c/o
Tradlands Washed Denim Shirt (old) c/o (wearing size XS – true to size)
Agolde ‘Parker’ Vintage Fit Cut-off Short (I’m wearing a size US 25 – runs true to size)
old gladiator sandals from UO
What is Cotton’s Blue Jeans Go Green™ Denim Recycling Program?
The Blue Jeans Go Green™ program is an easy way for you to take your preloved denim (made from cotton) and give it to a good cause. Sometimes when people clean out their closets, they’re left with items they aren’t interested in anymore. Recycling those items is a great option! Now that Cotton’s Blue Jeans Go Green™ program has joined forces with Zappos For Good, you can easily transform the natural fiber, cotton, from your denim to make housing insulation! It’s a brilliant concept, and one I’m so proud to support. Below I share how to get started!
How do I Use Cotton’s Blue Jeans Go Green™ Denim Recycling Program?
Thanks to the program’s new collaboration with Zappos for Good, it is now easier than ever to send in your denim and take part in the cause. Here’s how to use it:
01. Box up your preloved denim (made from cotton) to be shipped out. You can send as many boxes as you like – it’s free!
02. Print FREE mailing labels that can be downloaded by logging into your existing Zappos account, or creating one. (Keep in mind you can only ship from the continental U.S.)
03. Attach the label to a box and drop off at any UPS store. Super simple and for such a great cause.
I hope this new information about the Blue Jeans Go Green™ denim recycling program is helpful to you! I also hope it inspires you to check out your closet and see what’s hanging around in there. Before you dispose of it, consider recycling it instead!
I’m so excited to work towards a brighter, cleaner future and planet for our children! Thank you so much for reading!
